Where help is
- ConnexOntario gives free, confidential help 24/7. Call 1-866-531-2600, text CONNEX to 247247, or chat at connexontario.ca.
- OLG's My PlayBreak lets a person exclude themselves from Ontario casinos for 3 or 6 months or 1 to 5 years. Enrolment is through the OLG Support Centre at 1-800-387-0098, staff on site, or a PlaySmart Centre.
- BetGuard at betguard.ca lets a person exclude themselves from every regulated Ontario online gambling site, OLG.ca included. It offers 6 months, 1 year, 5 years or a custom term, and does not cover land-based casinos.
- PlaySmart, at playsmart.ca, is OLG's responsible gambling site.
A limit set before the drive
The slots at Kawartha Downs are open daily, year round, from 10:00 a.m. to midnight. Midnight gives any visit a fixed end. How much to spend is a different reading, and no clock sets it.
That amount is the reader's own decision, made at home before the drive to 1382 County Road 28. A limit describes spending, not winning. Once the sum is spent, the visit is over, whatever the hour.

The Field Readings desk
This guide is written and signed collectively as the Field Readings desk. No page carries a personal byline, and the site has no named author.
Facts were checked on October 10, 2026, against the pages of Kawartha Downs and of the operator, Great Canadian. OLG's casino list, the City of Peterborough's transit pages and Ontario sources were read too. A number goes on a chart only when a source carries it. Distances are straight lines between map points: the venue's coordinates and the town points of OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors). The desk does not estimate driving times.
Times are Eastern time. The pictures are generated scenes with no people in them, not photographs of the venue. The site has no forms, comments or accounts, and keeps nothing about readers except the colour theme chosen in the open browser tab.
